Tutors Impacting Public Schools (TIPS) is hiring substitute classroom tutors to improve student success, support teacher and school needs, and enrich public school classrooms for the 2025-2026 school year! More details about our work and impact can be found on our website here.
We are looking for tutors who:

Are passionate about helping youth succeed and grow
Will be culturally responsive people who can support students from all backgrounds
Build relationships across lines of differences, acting with empathy and compassion
Are committed to serving their community
Can be flexible and problem-solve in the dynamic school environment
Will communicate and collaborate effectively with educators
In this position you will:
Support students in grades K–12 (depending on school need) in ELA, Math, Science, or general academic support through whole-class, one-on-one, or small-group tutoring at various TIPS partner schools across Seattle
Build valuable leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
Develop professional relationships with faculty, staff, and TIPS administration
Receive paid training on Race & Equity in Education, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Student Engagement & Management, creating Inclusive & Welcoming School Environments, Social Emotional Learning strategies, and more!
Get paid $24/hour
Accrue paid sick leave
Schedule:
Start Date: January 5, 2026 (we can be flexible with this)
End Date: June 17, 2026 (we can be flexible with this)
Hours vary depending on school assignments; substitute tutors must be available during typical school-day or after-school program hours
Schedule may shift week-to-week based on staffing needs across TIPS partner schools
Follows Seattle Public Schools schedule for breaks and holidays
