Tutors Impacting Public Schools (TIPS) is hiring classroom tutors to improve student success, support teacher and school needs, and enrich public school classrooms for the 2025-2026 school year! More details about our work and impact can be found on our website here.
We are looking for tutors who:
Want to foster equitable and inclusive classrooms
Are passionate about helping youth succeed and grow
Will be culturally responsive people who can support students from all backgrounds
Build relationships across lines of differences, acting with empathy and compassion
Are committed to serving their community
Can be flexible and problem-solve in the dynamic school environment
Will communicate and collaborate effectively with educators
Have previous experience in supporting both Math and ELA at the middle-school level
In this position you will:
Support grades 6-8 in Math, ELA, and Advisory (homework help and work catch up) via whole-class support, small group tutoring, and one-on-one tutoring at Licton Springs K-8 School (3015 NW 68th St, Seattle, WA 98117)
Work with students on foundational math skills like decimals, fractions, ratios and proportions, and early algebra
Assist teachers and other school staff with group instruction, classroom activities, and special projects
Build valuable leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
Develop professional relationships with faculty, staff, and TIPS administration
Receive paid training on Race & Equity in Education, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Student Engagement & Management, creating Inclusive & Welcoming School Environments, Social Emotional Learning strategies, and more!
Get paid $24/hour
Accrue paid sick leave
Schedule:
Start Date: October 13th, 2025
End Date: June 12th, 2025
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 10:30am to 2:30pm, Wednesdays from 10:15am to 1:15pm
19 hours a week
Schedule is fixed to meet school's needs
