Strong Plus: Speaks Spanish
In this position you will:
Support grades 6-8 in Math via small group tutoring, and one-on-one tutoring at Denny International Middle School (2601 SW Kenyon St, Seattle, WA 98106)
Work with students on foundational math skills like decimals, fractions, ratios and proportions, and early algebra
Assist teachers and other school staff with group instruction, classroom activities, and special projects
Build valuable leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
Develop professional relationships with faculty, staff, and TIPS administration
Receive paid training on Race & Equity in Education, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Student Engagement & Management, creating Inclusive & Welcoming School Environments, Social Emotional Learning strategies, and more!
Get paid $24/hour
Accrue paid sick leave
Schedule:
Start Date: December 3rd, 2024
End Date: January 17th, 2025 (see below for possibility of extension)
Tuesdays and Thursdays
1:30pm to 4:00pm
5 hours a week
Schedule is fixed to meet school's needs
Follows Seattle Public Schools schedule for breaks and holidays
You may extend this position to second semester, from March 3rd to May 29th. Please indicate in your application if you would like to be considered for second semester as well.
